ReLearning to listen - 5 ways to improve your listening

Listening is essential to us, we have done it for millions of years and now we are losing this ability, because of so many influencers:
- too much noise
- recording devices which does that for us
- pollution

Conscious listening creates Understanding..

and world without listening - is very scary place.

5 tips to listen better:
1. Silence: at least 3 minutes a day, will rec-calibrate your listening a lot
2. Mixer: improving the quality of your listening. How: when you are in a noisy place, try listening to how many individual channels of sound can you hear. Off course you can do it in a forest as well, distinguishing how many birds you hear!
3. Savering. Try to enjoy Mundane sounds. For example try to enjoy your washer, or the fan, or ... Mundane sounds could be very interesting if you pay attention!
4. Listening position: (probably the most important). Examples of positions:
Active/Passive
Reductive/Expansive
Critical / Emphatic
Idea is that you can move your listening position to what's appropriate to your situation.

5. Use RASA
Receive - consciously
Appreciate - make various noises like - umm, ahh , oh yes, bla bla...
Summarize - make sure you understood, double check if you did
Ask - for something afterwards

We should teach conscious listening in our schools ...
